Nature Walk
Frustrated that your child is Glued to the Gadget all the time?
Guilty that you do not go outdoors as much as you want to?
Have your child join us for a Nature Walk every Wednesdays and Saturdays
Make new friends
Now your child can meet other children other than your neighbors or their classmates.
Breathe fresh air
Yes, our "playground" is out in nature. Just like our times when we were younger. Just like in the province.
Get some "me time"
Leave your child with us for some much deserved "me time". Treat yourself to a cup of coffee. Come back refreshed for another day.
Forest School Philippines (FSP) invites to join us for a Nature Walk every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:30am to 11:30 am at Alitaptap Artist’s Village in Amadeo, Cavite.
Amadeo is only 20 minutes away from Tagaytay, and you enjoy the same cool breeze that Tagaytay has, less the pollution and traffic.
The village is surrounded by mango and coconut trees. It has a huge space for your child to explore and interact with nature. There’s a river that leads to a waterfalls, where your child can take a dip and cool off. There are a variety of birds in the forested areas, and your child can also find butterflies and dragonflies. The flora is diverse, and your child will be exposed to mosses, ferns, and lichens, and fungi.
We want you to get in the habit of going out in nature, that’s why we recommend getting the 6-session package instead of just one visit.
Children have fun when they are with other kids. As much as we want you mom and dad to join us, the nature walks are designed for kids. So just drop them off and we’ll take care of the rest.
Meanwhile, you can take advantage of this and get your much deserved “me time” and slip away in one of the coffee shops around Amadeo. [as you may know, Amadeo is known as the coffee capital of the Philippines ;)]
After the kids’ nature walk, you can unwind some more and bond with your kids in Tagaytay, which is only 20 minutes away.

What to Bring :
We want your child to have fun. They will be out for 2 hours. In order to prevent physical discomfort (scratches, cuts, stings, soggy socks, and cold hands), we may send your child back home without appropriate clothing. Let them have fun by making sure they come in proper attire.
Aside from proper clothing, please have your children bring a :
Good-fitting waterproof backpack with a chest strap. Children will be expected to carry everything they need in their own packs. Inside the backpack:
– water bottle (about 500mls), filled with water which they can open themselves
– change of clothes inside a plastic bag (so it remains dry)
– packed food in a container they can open themselves, and does not require use of a fork or spoon.
* Please leave toys and gadgets at home.
What to Wear?
FSP is held in all-weathers– it means we will be outdoors throughout the day–rain or shine! Make sure your child is dressed properly and comfortably in both weather. Your child is most likely to get dirty, so have him/her wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet and muddy.
Participants are to wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear including waterproofs.
- Lightweight longsleeved shirt or dri-fit tops or rash-guard to protect from heat and mosquitoes*
- Comfortable trousers (jogging bottoms or leggings)*
- Sturdy closed toe shoes or boots
- Apply sun screen and insect repellant
- Hat or cap (preferably one that offers protection to the back of their neck)
- Water proofs so their clothes do not get wet or muddy : jacket, poncho and raincoat inside the backpack labeled with their name.
- Swimwear (there’s a river and waterfalls, they may want to swim)
- Spare clothing to change : One t-shirt, trousers, pair of socks, underwear
*Legs and arms must always be covered to prevent scratches, stings and bites.
Do you cancel nature walks due to inclement weather?
FSP takes place whether it rains or shines. When it is deemed unsafe (lightning, strong winds with falling branches, typhoon, thunderstorm, heavy rains), we will find an alternative outdoor activity in a safer location or move activities to indoor areas. As a last resort, we may have to cancel.
How will my child pee or poop?
There’s a toilet in the village that your child can use.
At FSP, we try to minimize our impact on the environment. Use of wet wipes is discouraged as it tends to be dropped during sessions. We recommend using water to wash instead.
Reserve now.
We only accept 8 kids per session.
What activities will they be doing?
Since nature walks are designed as unstructured outdoor play, these are the possible things they will learn :
| tadpoles | caterpillar | worms | spiders | weather | balancing | body awareness | fruits | mud play | negotiation | motor coordination | heights | judging distance | recognize risks | track animal movement | sand play | mud play | recognize patterns | overcoming fears | five senses | season changes | verbal rhythms | spatial awareness | independent play | fungus safety | water play | bamboo | fern | dragonflies | body positioning | problem solving | moss | vocabulary | hopping and skipping | team work | personal hygiene | physical care | expression of emotions | wood | length | height | jump off rocks | safe landing | empathy | compassion | food sharing | cooperation | active listening | environment protection | mud art | assertion | confidence | creativity | song | storytelling | respect for others | physical stamina | endurance | balancing | identifying plants | climbing trees |
